Overview & Highlights

Located in the heart of Miami’s bustling downtown, Lolita Restaurant invites you to embark on a flavorful journey through authentic Mexican cuisine. This cozy Mexican eatery at 316 SW 8th Ave is a must-visit for both locals and visitors craving genuine, home-style Mexican fare with vibrant flavors that burst from every bite.

At Lolita, the star of the menu is undoubtedly the tacos. Each order comes with three tacos, each crafted with care and tradition. Whether you prefer the rich, smoky char of the Asada Tacos ($10), the tender, slow-cooked delight of Carnitas or Chicken Tacos ($8 each), or the perfectly spiced Al Pastor, there’s a taco to satisfy every craving. For those looking for a more adventurous palate, the Lengua and Tripa Tacos offer bold, authentic tastes priced at $11 each, while the Campechanos Tacos combine chorizo and asada for a flavorful medley. Don’t miss the weekend special, the Birria Tacos ($13), which come accompanied by a rich birria soup—a comforting dish that showcases the depth of Mexican culinary tradition.

Beyond tacos, Lolita’s menu features the hearty Quesadillas ($6), customizable with your choice of meat and served with either flour or corn tortillas, and the satisfying Sopes ($13), a vibrant trio of thick corn tortillas topped with beans, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and your selected meat. Each dish is crafted to deliver layers of textures and flavors—from the melting cheese and tender meats to the refreshing crunch of fresh lettuce and the zing of spicy hot sauce.

The ambiance at Lolita is inviting and casual, perfect for grabbing a quick yet fulfilling meal or settling in to enjoy authentic flavors with friends or family. Customers frequently praise the warm, attentive service and the willingness of staff to accommodate even those arriving just before closing time, reflecting a genuine hospitality that complements the food.

Patrons have raved about the deliciousness of the tacos and the impressive quality of the hot sauce, noting its ability to elevate every bite. While experiences vary, with some finding the tacos in line with typical Miami standards and others applauding their authentic, made-with-love qualities, the consensus leans toward Lolita being a hidden gem worth frequenting. Happy diners like Krissel Zelaya highlight the restaurant as a true representation of real Mexican cuisine, and Henry Huot appreciates the generous portions and kind staff.

Whether you’re a devoted taco lover or a newcomer ready to explore Mexican flavors, Lolita Restaurant promises an engaging culinary experience with dishes that are as comforting as they are exciting. Stop by to indulge in the savory, smoky, and spicy notes that define traditional Mexican street food – it’s more than a meal, it’s a celebration of culture on a plate.

A place to stop by if you need food and are in the area. Chicken dinner was filling, and tacos were sufficient. The lentil soup was a great sized portion, but if you have diet resrictions they used hotdogs in it as a protien. Staff was kind and was able to serve us even a little after they were supposed to close. Wouldn't mind coming back to try more.

I love this place. It is definitely a hidden gem. The food is fantastic and the tacos? The tacos are delicious!! Anyone saying this isn’t real Mexican food has obviously never tried real Mexican food. Because this restaurant makes authentic tacos. Five stars all the way, the service was great too. I will be coming back like always.

The tacos are average, the usual fare you'd expect in Miami. I usually just opt for takeout and rarely eat at restaurants; I prefer eating at home. I understand that tipping culture is big in the US, but do I really need to tip just for picking up my order? The lady's expression changed noticeably when she realized I hadn't tipped for takeout.

The tacos are great and the hot sauce is really good! I've gone here multiple times and I will keep coming back.
